“There’s no Place like Home” Ms B said it best! This is my great-niece and I made the Dorothy costume for her for Halloween. Our family seems to have a fascination with the movie, “The Wizard of Oz”. It is my brother, Jim’s favorite movie. Cassidy is Ms. B’s sister and I made her a Dorothy costume when she was 4 and 8 and a Glenda (? good witch) when she was 6. In fact, I am such a horder that I used Cassidy’s pattern for Ms B’s costume. Ms. B’s mom decided to use “The Wizard of Oz” theme for her 4th birthday party. It was priceless.
The cupcakes had rings on them with the characters from the movie. Of course we had to collect one of each for my brother .(LOL)
She also had ruby slippers on some of the cupcakes. She said she got them online if you are interested. The most amazing thing at the party was the “Tin Man” that Bentley’s (Ms B) grandpa made.
He was holding all the balloons on the food table. Here are some up close pictures if you would like to make oneyourself.
This is the Wizard of Oz necklace Ms B got. It has her name, the Tin Man and her ruby slippers. I believe they got it on Etsy.
Great Uncle Jim checking out Bentley’s new necklace. If you want to make the Dorothy dress, I used Simplicity pattern #7801 and I think it is still available. It includes Dorothy, Wicked Witch and the Good Witch. They also had a candy table with some cute names like “the lollypop guild”. I hope this gives you some ideas for a party of your own.
