Just like everyone else, I have been very busy with friends and family over the past few weeks. I haven’t really taken the time to do many postings. Some of that was due to the fact that I had been working on some Christmas presents and didn’t want to post them before they had been opened. Also, both of my children are home for a week and I really didn’t want to take away from family time to busy myself on the computer. Well they both got up early today and went to the gym, so they are taking a nap. I thought this would be the perfect chance to do a post. Now it seems like some of my posts are not going to be timely since they are Christmas Posts!
This peppermint tray was “pinned” by my niece and I thought I would try it.
I just picked up a bag of mints while I was at Walmart. I thought I would like to make a shaped tray, so I started with one mint and then started surrounding it with other mints.
I put parchment paper down on my cookie sheet before I started. (you can also use waxed paper) I got this small tray completed and did not have enough mints to make it any bigger, so I put the rest of them together to make two small coasters.
I then looked a couple of “pins” and they stated to put the mints in the oven at 330 for 7 to 9 minutes. This is what I did. The also cautioned that a higher temperture may cause the mints to “smoke”. The tray turned out, but the coasters became a little miss-shaped. They tray was really not big enough to put anything on. I would suggest you buy more mints. and make it a little bigger. It is also “sticky”, so you would have to put it on another tray. I am going to keep it and maybe use it for Valentine’s Day. You can check out one of the sites I used here.
