Bunny Button Up – Happy Easter

Happy Easter everyone!  Although my children were not home for Easter, we did have a house full.  It rained, so we had an indoor Easter Egg Hunt.  140 eggs were found in about 10 minutes by 4 little cuties.  Everyone enjoyed the food and fun.  The day ended with my sisters doing the dishes while Bentley taught Uncle D some of her dance moves.  It was so cute.  Notice my ipod on the table rocking out the tunes.  Mr. B is busy on the Kindle playing Angry Birds.

My niece, Kathleen made a couple of recipes she found on Pinterest and they were both great.  I don’t have the recipes, but I am sure you can search for them on Pinterest.  Stay tuned this summer for some more great ideas from Kathleen.  She can not wait to finish her first year of college and get creative on her Summer break.

Well it’s been a couple of weeks since my last post, but I have been busy.  My children we home for a few days and I have spent most of my Spring Break with my “quilties”.  Several of my friends also work for the school system, so we have had a wonderful week sewing and eating.  Those are two of my favorite pastimes.  The only bad thing about that is that I am moving in the wrong direction on the scale.  The good thing is that we go some projects finished.

Well the weather is getting warmer and I hope to get back on track with the diet and exercises after Easter.  I will be cooking some goodies and will share the results in the next few days.

This is a wall hanging that I finished this past week.  It is from the “long and lean” series by Thankful Sew.  My friend, Chris and I have purchased 4 patterns so far and this is the only one I have completed.  It is 16″ x 60″.  That make is as long as I am tall.  Too bad the lean part doesn’t apply.

March St Patrick’s Day Count on it quilt

Happy St Patrick’s Day!  I hope everyone had a great weekend.  This is my little quilt I made for March for my small quilt hanger.  I have posted some of my other small quilts in Oct and Nov.  This one is out of Nancy Halverston’s book, “Count On It”.  She has  one for every month and even one for a birthday.  I just love her designs and I have many of her books.

I spent Saturday scrapbooking with the M.A.D. scrappers and got most of my Easter cards finished.  Today, Sunday, I quilted with a few friends and got the Easter quilt done for this hanger.  I will post it later in the week.

I am sure you have noticed that I haven’t been posting any recipes.  I have been going to Weight Watchers and trying my best not to even think about food.  I will be having Easter at my house, so stay tuned for some great eats in the next couple of weeks.

I am still waiting on the warm weather and hope it gets here soon!  I hope someone told Mother Nature that Spring starts this week!

Well it’s about time!

I haven’t posted in a while, so I thought I would give you a peek at some of the quilts I have done on my long arm machine.  This is one I quilted for my good friend, Kathi.  She has been very busy this year and I have done several quilts for her.  This one was for one of her grandson’s.  I loved the use of the bright colors.

I tried some cobble stone quilting in the outer border.  I thought the trucks needed some pavement!

I repeated the stars that were in the blocks in the quilting.  I put large stars in the plain blocks and a little star rope in the white border.

I am hoping this will get me inspired to get back to the quilting machine.  It is kinda’ cold in the basement, so maybe the warmer weather will be the spark I need to get my engine going!
