I know, I know…only 2 weeks into my challenge and I am already a week behind on my post. I do have an excuse. I have been in CO visiting my son for a week. I promise that I will catch-up this weekend. How? I am really doing one of the things listed on my wonderful fabric, “take the Summer OFF”.
I can see I need to pay more attention to my blocks when I take my photos. Each little thread and wrinkle is showing up in the pictures.
I did have a little trouble with this block, because when it printed the seam allowance was missing. Easy fix, just get out your ruler and draw it on!
Again, I used my color pencils to shade the block before I began.
Trace the handle on freezer paper and iron the waxy side to the wrong side of your handle fabric.
Now trim around the block and turn the edges. I used a water-soluble glue stick.
Glue the turned handle to the largest triangle. Now you can start to assemble the block.
Sew the last two seams and applique the handle down. Now you can mark another block off your list .Woo Hoo! Five down!!
The Basket Weave block was really simple and just a few seams. First I cut one strip 1 1/2″ x 15″ from each of the three fabrics.
Sew these three strips together and measure them to make sure they are 3 1/2″ wide. Now sub-cut the strip into 4- 3 1/2″ blocks.
Sew these block together and mark another one-off your list. Six down!!
Here I am at the Arch in Chautauqua Park in Boulder CO. No, my leg isn’t broken, I am just trying not to fall!
