The free Cricut Cut in the Cricut Craft Room this week is Something to Celebrate.  You can cut the images for scrapbooking or they can be cut to make cards.  I made these two cards for two cuties that will be turning 5 soon.

Farmer's Wife Quilt #13 Buckwheat

Farmer’s Wife Quilt #13 Buckwheat

I am way behind on my posting!  I am going to try to catch up.  I love the colors in this block.  I used the paper-pieced patterns from the Yahoo “Farmer’s Wife ” group.

This is the layout for the patterned pieces.  The bottom triangle didn’t fit on the first try.

I had to re-do the triangle!

I printed another copy of the pattern and used another triangle.  You can see the one on the left didn’t print and I didn’t draw the bottom line on correctly.

Although I really like this block, I don’t get the name.  I think it looks like tulips.  I like the colors I choose, but I did struggle with the fact that the patterns don’t match up.  I guess in the total look of the quilt, you won’t notice the small pattern in this block.
